Terms and Conditions
DH Couriers in conjunction with its affiliates is engaged in the transportation of shipments by the following services: Same day, Weekend, Rush, Direct, Overnight – Canada, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM. The services offered to the customer are in accordance with the terms and conditions set out herein and in accordance with DH Courier's published and or specified rates.
DH Couriers offers services of general commodities, as usually defined, subject to the following restrictions:
- Package Restrictions
Weight: Maximum weight of any single package, regardless of contents, is 55.46 kg
Dimensions: Maximal combination of package dimensions are (110cm, 55cm, 55cm) disregarding length, width and depth combinations.
- Package Pricing
All package pricing is based on three categories of flat rates, such that, some individual pricing categories correspond to closed ranges based on International Air Transport Association (IATA) volumetric calculations.
Folders: Individual folders, regardless whether or not filled to capacity, measuring 0.303 dimensional kg (24.4cm, 29.8cm, 2.5cm).
Boxes: Shall be greater than above mentioned 0.303 dimensional kg of the Folders category and less than or equal to dimensional 4.91kg (38.1cm, 30.5cm, 25.4cm)
Large Boxes: Shall be greater than dimensional kg of the Boxes category and equalling or less than the above mentioned maximal 55.46 dimensional kg.
- Limitation of Liability: If no Declared Value is declared in writing by the Shipper to DH Couriers as in clause 2.2(b) below, it is agreed that for claims purposes (including a claim based upon failure to deliver, misdelivery, damage, loss or theft of packages), DH Couriers' liability is limited to a maximum of $50 per shipment regardless of the circumstances, including but not limited to, the gross negligence or negligence of DH Couriers and its employees, contractors or agents. However, for all late or delayed shipments, clause 2.2(c) applies.
- Declared Value: An additional charge must be paid to DH Couriers if the Shipper wishes to obtain Declared Value protection in excess of $50 per shipment. However, Declared Value protection does not protect against late or delayed shipments: see 2.2(c) below. The maximum Declared Value for a shipment is $1,000, in which case DH Couriers maximum liability will be $1,000. However, all jewellery shipments (other than costume jewellery) are limited to a maximum Declared Value of $500 per shipment. Any effort by the Shipper to declare a value in excess of these maximum amounts shall be null and void. The acceptance for carriage by DH Couriers of any shipments bearing a Declared Value in excess of these maximum amounts does not constitute a waiver of this provision. In addition, for international shipments, the Declared Value cannot exceed the declared value for Customs.
- Limitation of Liability for Consequential Losses: DH Couriers shall not be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages (collectively, the "Consequential Damages") including, but not limited to, loss of profit incurred by the Shipper or any other person or company as the result of DH Couriers (or its agents) acts or omissions, including gross negligence or negligence causing damages, failure to deliver, misdelivery, loss or theft of shipment, or late or delayed shipment. In any such event, DH Couriers' liability shall be limited to either a refund or credit of the shipping charges (pursuant to the terms of DH Couriers' shipping guarantee in effect at time of shipment, if the shipment has been guaranteed DH Couriers to arrive on time).This limitation of liability applies to all shipments, regardless of whether the Shipper has declared a value of the shipment (as per 2.2 (b) above) and paid the additional charges. In no event shall DH Couriers be liable for Consequential Damages even if advised in advance of the possibility of such damages.
- Items for which DH Couriers has no liability: Notwithstanding anything in clause 2, DH Couriers will have no liability whatsoever for: (i) any items that are prohibited herein from being shipped with it; (ii) loss or damages to perishable items requiring protection from heat or cold, to the extent the loss of damages results from exposure to heat or cold or the perishable nature of the items; (iii) any loss or damages to any package due to improper packaging; and (iv) any causes beyond DH Couriers control such as acts of God, strikes, lockouts, and power disruptions.
No Service shall be rendered in the transportation of tenders. Should a Shipper ship a "tender" without written approval from DH Couriers, DH Couriers will not be held responsible in any manner, financially or otherwise, for the consequences of failure to deliver a shipment by a stipulated time.
No service shall be rendered by DH Couriers in the transportation of any shipment which is prohibited by law or regulations of any federal, state, provincial, or local government in the origin country or destination country.
DH Couriers reserves the right to open and inspect any Shipment tendered to it for transportation, but is not obligated to do so.

DH Couriers reserves the right to refuse any Package that by reason of the dangerous nature or any other character of its contents is liable, in judgment of DH Couriers, to soil, taint, or otherwise damage other merchandise or equipment, or that is economically or operationally impracticable to transport, or that is improperly packaged, wrapped, or labelled.
DH Couriers will not be liable for delay, damage to or loss of goods caused or contributed to by defects or inadequacy of the packaging used by the Shipper, or for damage to or loss of the packaging used by the Shipper. The use of DH Couriers – provided packaging is not a guarantee that an item is sufficiently packaged for transportation. DH Couriers does not provide special handling for Packages bearing "Fragile," Package orientation markings (e.g., "UP" arrows or "This End Up"), or any other similar markings.
Labelling: Every package tendered to DH Couriers must contain complete "From" and "To" details including postal code or Zip code, contact names, telephone numbers and an DH Couriers tracking number. DH Couriers cannot deliver to a P.O. Box and or a Rural Route number. Shipments require a street address including apartment/suite/unit numbers and the consignee's telephone number. Multiple-piece shipments (as defined in section 7.1) must be labelled with the full delivery address on each piece and each piece individually marked "1 of 3", "2 of 3", "3 of 3", etc.
Multiple-Piece Shipments All shipments covered under a single DH Couriers waybill/tracking number are considered a single shipment for the purpose of calculating shipping charges.
Shipment dimensions must be rounded up to the closest whole inch. Shipment weights must be rounded up to the next whole pound.
An additional premium is applicable for each package/order with a required pickup or delivery time outside DH Couriers' Regular Operating Hours. DH Couriers' Regular Operating Hours are; but not restricted to: Weekdays from 8:00am to 6:00pm excluding Statutory Holidays. These hours are subject to change without notice. The Shipper must inform a DH Couriers customer service representative during regular operating hours of their intent to have a shipment picked up or delivered after hours. The Shipper will then be advised the service availability depending destination and will quote the price at that time. The shipper is also responsible for providing DH Couriers with contact information of a person also available during the times requested of the order in the event of an unexpected issue.
An additional charge may be assessed when a Shipper requires DH Couriers to invoice a third party or consignee. Either or must have a DH Couriers account.
An additional premium is applicable for each package delivered on a Saturday. The shipper must inform DH Couriers customer service ambassador of their intent to have a shipment delivered on a Saturday. The shipper will then be advised the availability of Saturday Service to the requested destination. If the Saturday Service destination is available, the shipper will then be instructed on how to mark the DH Couriers waybill.
An additional charge may be assessed when a shipper requires DH Couriers to invoice a third party or the consignee. Either/or must have DH Couriers account. The shipper must inform a customer service ambassador at the time of placing the order of their request either freight-collect or third party billing. The shipper must also mark the waybill appropriately. The shipper agrees to pay for the courier service in the event the consignee or third party fails to pay the invoice. DH Couriers reserves the right to place the customers on a cash only basis as well as any other legal rights and remedies available to it.
If DH Couriers is unable to deliver any shipment because of an incorrect address; DH Couriers will make best efforts in locating the proper destination address. Once the correct address is located DH Couriers will proceed to attempt to deliver the shipment at an additional charge.
An additional charge may be assessed for shipments picked up from or delivered to certain extended points which are beyond the normal DH Couriers service area.
DH Couriers cannot deliver to either a Rural Route or P.O. Box Number. All shipments require a street address including apartment/suite/unit numbers and the consignee's telephone number. Should the shipper address the shipment to either a Rural Route or P.O. Box number, additional charges will be assessed, and there may be delays in the delivery.
If for some reason, DH Couriers is unable to deliver a shipment, the shipper will be notified of the circumstances surrounding the failed attempt, and will request further instructions. If the shipper requests DH Couriers re-attempt the delivery, an additional charge will apply. See your price schedule for cost.
If DH Couriers is unable to make pick up of a shipment, the shipper will be informed and a dead call charge will be assessed.
A "Waiting Time Charge" will apply for every 15 minute interval DH Couriers agent has to wait for either a pick up or delivery of a shipment. Refer to your price schedule for costs.
An additional charge will apply for those requesting a copy of the signed waybill via fax or mail. Please refer to your price schedule.
Shipments which are sent "prepaid" by the Shipper and which are refused by the Consignee or which for any other reason cannot be delivered, will be promptly returned to the Shipper with an additional charge being billed to and paid for by the Shipper. Shipments which are sent "collect" or "third party" by the Shipper and which are refused by the Consignee, or which for any other reason cannot be delivered, shall be promptly returned to the Shipper with all shipping and additional charges billed to and paid for by the Shipper. If the returned Package is refused by the Shipper, or the Package cannot otherwise be returned to the Shipper, DH Couriers will retain the Package for a period of time determined at its sole discretion, but no more than thirty (30) days, and DH Couriers reserves the right to dispose of the Package thereafter.
DH Couriers provides Collect, Prepaid and Third party invoicing options. The following explains the meanings of the invoice options: Collect-The consignee pays all the shipping charges. Prepaid- The shipper pays all the shipping charges including additional charges. Third Party-The shipper may request that their portion of the shipping charges be invoiced to an alternative party. The alternative must have a DH Couriers account.
The shipper must notify the consignee prior to shipping if any option other than "prepaid" is selected and the invoicing option required must be indicated on the appropriate DH Couriers pick up record in the space provided. The shipper is liable for payment in the event of non-payment by the consignee or the alternative party.
Delivery can be verified by calling DH Couriers.
Verbal confirmation of delivery is available to both the shipper and consignee. The proof of delivery will consist of the name of the person who signed for the shipment, the time and date the shipment was delivered.
Upon request, DH Couriers will provide hard copy proof of delivery via mail or facsimile. Hard copy proof of delivery includes the time and date of delivery and the signature of the person who accepted the delivery. Additional charges apply for this service.
In addition to the email, telephone, or text POD options, our clients can request an official copy of the waybill as formal POD to include in their records. An additional fee of five dollars ($5.00) will be added to the client's invoice. The official copy of the waybill as POD will be delivered to the client by either postage mail or facsimile within 10 business days of request by client or completion of delivery, whichever is later.
In the event DH Couriers fails to complete delivery or attempt delivery, within the time commitment, the shipper will be entitled to claim a credit of the shipment's transportation charges.
The service guarantee for on-time delivery is subject to the following conditions: DH Couriers' guaranteed delivery schedule must state that the destination point qualifies for the service commitment from the origin point. The shipment must be properly documented on a DH Couriers pick up record and each package in the shipment must bear the appropriate DH Couriers waybill. Each package in the shipment must be properly labelled, including From/To address and postal or ZIP Code. For 9:30 a.m. , 10:30 a.m., and Saturday deliveries, the appropriate information must be recorded on the waybill and DH Couriers must be made aware of the required service at the time of order. The shipment must be tendered to DH Couriers during DH Couriers published business hours. DH Couriers must be notified of a service failure in writing or by telephone within fifteen (14) calendar days from the date of scheduled delivery and must be advised of the consignee's name, address, date of shipment, package weight, the DH Couriers reference number and waybill number.
The on-time delivery guarantee does not apply to shipments which are delayed due to causes beyond DH Couriers control including, but not limited to the following; the unavailability or refusal of a person to accept delivery of the shipment, delays caused by the consignee, acts of God, the Queen's or public enemies, public authorities, acting with actual or apparent authority on the premises, acts or omissions of customs or similar authorities, riots, strikes or other labor disputes, civil commotions, disruptions in the air or ground transportation network, authority of law, defect or inherent vice in the goods shipped, and nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination.
Damage The amount of loss or damage for which DH Couriers may be held liable shall not exceed the lesser of $1.50 per pound or $50.00, unless the shipper and DH Couriers specifically agree otherwise in writing. The maximum amount DHCouriers will be held liable for will not exceed $1000.00 CD.
When using DH Couriers services, $50.00 of coverage automatically applies to the value of the shipment. The maximum value or declared value per shipment is $1000.00 and the maximum DH Couriers liability per shipment is $1000.00. Notice of loss or damage must be given to DH Couriers within 24 hours after such loss or damage becomes known, and in writing within 14 days after the shipment is accepted by DH Couriers. In the event a claim is made for concealed damage, the customer must notify DH Couriers within 48 hours from the time the goods were delivered. DH Couriers is not liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages. All claims are subject to inspection of the piece(s) delivered. Approved claims will be credited to the customer's account, no refunds will be awarded.

Attention: Claims Department. All claim notifications must include shipment details, including address information (from/to), date of shipment, package weight, the DH Couriers reference number, the waybill number and a detailed statement of what is being claimed. Claims must be lodged within the following time periods: Loss or Damage Claims Verbal notification within 24 hours; written notification within 14 days Claims of Concealed Damage Verbal notification within 48 hours of delivery Service Guarantee Claims Verbal notification within 24 hours written notification within 14 days.
DH Couriers shall not be liable for any interruption of delivery service due to a cause beyond DH Couriers control, or due to strikes, lockouts or labor disputes. For further details refer to Section 2.0
DH Couriers is not financially responsible for the consequences of failure to deliver a shipment by a stipulated time.
All applicable Federal and Provincial taxes required by law will be charged on all delivery costs and surcharges. The customer agrees to pay DH Couriers any and all taxes assessed to their account.
DH Couriers credit terms require payment of all charges within fifteen (15) days after the date of DH Couriers invoice. DH Couriers will invoice bi-weekly according to calendar month. The shipper agrees to pay DH Couriers all shipping charges in the event of non-payment by the consignee or the alternative party invoiced. In the event the customers fails to pay the invoice, DH Couriers reserves the right to place the customer on a "cash only" basis as well as implementing any other legal rights and remedies available to it.

Standard Condition of Carriage
By the Conditions set out below, DH Couriers and its servants and agents are not liable at all for certain losses and damage and if they are to be liable, the amount of liability is in all circumstances limited to the amount stated. Customers are therefore advised to seek their own insurance coverage in any areas in which liability and fault are not clearly accepted by DH Couriers.
Any business undertaken by DH Couriers is carried out subject to the conditions hereinafter set out, each of which shall be deemed to be incorporated in and to be a condition of any agreement whether written, oral or implied between DH Couriers and a customer. DH Couriers shall not be bound by any agreement purporting to vary these conditions unless such agreement shall be in writing and signed on behalf of DH Couriers by a competent officer thereof. In the absence of any such written agreement to the contrary these conditions shall constitute the entire agreement between DH Couriers and each of its customers.
DH Couriers is not a common carrier and will only carry documents or goods subject to these conditions which can only be altered in accordance with clause 1 above. DH Couriers reserves the right to refuse the carriage or transportation of any documents or goods of any person, firm or company and the carriage or transportation of any class of document or goods at its absolute discretion.
DH Couriers undertakes subject to payment in accordance with rates notified to the customer from time to time to carry the customer's documents or goods between destinations agreed between DH Couriers and the customers. DH Couriers reserves the right to carry the customer's documents or goods by any route and procedure and by successive carriers and according to its handling, storage and transportation methods.
The packaging of the customers' documents or goods for transportation is the customer's responsibility including the placing of documents or goods in any container which may be supplied to the customer. DH Couriers accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to documents or goods caused by inadequate or inappropriate packaging. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to address adequately each consignment of documents or goods to enable effective delivery to be made. DH Couriers shall not be liable for delay in forwarding the delivery resulting from customer's failure to comply with its obligations in this respect.
The customer is liable for all losses, damages and expenses arising as the result of its negligence.
DH Couriers will only carry documents or goods which are the property of the customer and the customer warrants that it is authorized to accept and is accepting these conditions not only on behalf of itself but also as agents for and on behalf of all other persons who are or may hereafter become interested in the documents or goods. The customer hereby undertakes to indemnify DH Couriers against any damages, costs and expenses resulting from any breach of this warranty.
DH Couriers is responsible for the customer's documents or goods whilst they are within its custody or control and shall be liable to clause 9 hereof for loss sustained by the customer due to damage to or loss of the documents or goods whilst in DH Couriers custody provided that such loss or damage was due to the negligence of DH Couriers, its servants or agents. Save as aforesaid DH Couriers shall be under no liability in respect of the documents or goods carried by it and in particular shall not be liable for consequential loss however the same shall rise. The parties agree that consequential loss shall be deemed to include without restriction commercial, financial or other direct loss including loss of interest and utility. DH Couriers shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by the customer due to any delays in the carriage or delivery of documents or goods which are beyond the control of DH Couriers.
The liability of DH Couriers under these conditions shall not be limited to the payment of DH Couriers by way of damages of a sum not exceeding $100 per consignment. For the purpose of establishing the amount DH Couriers liability under this clause the value of a document or the goods shall be ascertained by reference to their replacement or reconstitution value at the time and place of shipment without reference to their commercial utility to the customer and other items of consequential loss.
Any claim brought by a customer against DH Couriers hereunder in respect of duties and liabilities must be notified by the customer to an office of DH Couriers in writing within 28 days of the day when the document or goods should have reached their destination.
DH Couriers will not carry (in addition to those items mentioned in clause 2 hereof) dangerous, hazardous, combustible or explosive material, gold and silver bullion, coin, dust, cyanides, precipitates, or any form of uncoined gold and silver ore bullion, platinum, and other precious metals, precious and semi-precious stones including commercial carbons or industrial diamonds, currency (paper or coin) of any nationality, negotiable securities, stocks, bonds, certificates, unconcealed postage or revenue stamps, war savings or thrift stamps, blank or endorsed in blank cashier's cheques, money order or traveler's cheques, letters, antiques, pictures, livestock or plants and the event that any customer consign such items with DH Couriers the customer shall indemnify DH Couriers for all claims, damages and expenses arising in connection therewith and DH Couriers shall have the right to abandon carriage of the same immediately upon DH Couriers having knowledge that such item infringes these conditions. The right of inspection referred to in clause 4 shall also apply for the purposes of this clause.
Invoices and Payments
DH Couriers offers bi-weekly invoices according to calendar month exclusively.
These invoices will be sent via email or regular post.

DH Couriers offers Pre-Authorized Debit Payments. Invoices issued on the 15th of the month are debited from your bank account on the 21st of the same month.
Invoices issued on the 30th of the month are debited from your bank account on the 7th of the following month.

DH Couriers also offers Pre-Authorized Visa. These payments are charged to your Visa 7 days after the billing date on your invoice.

DUE DATE: Seven (7) business days from the billing date on your invoice
DH Couriers offers to its members at no charge pick up of payments. Arrangements can be made by calling the office or emailing admin@dhcouriers.com when the payment is available.
If your account goes beyond the terms set out by DH Couriers, you will receive reminder notices. These reminder notices will have all of your outstanding invoices listed in a statement format at the bottom of the page. These letters are automatically generated by the computer and sent via email.

A late fee of 0.125% per day will begin to accrue on your account if payment has not been received by the ascribed Due Date of your particular payment method.
